Bhadrak: At a time when the Board of Secondary Education is drawing flak for its alleged failure in conducting the High School Certificate (HSC) examination smoothly, another incident at Bhadrakali Government High School has added fuel to fire.
Bhadrak Rural police on Monday detained Chittaranjan Behera, the peon of Bhadrakali Government High School for facilitating copying during Class X board examinations.
According to sources, HSC examinees along with their parents created ruckus in front of the school following the end of examination. Students locked the main gate of the school accusing Behera of providing copy to certain students for last three subjects.
Upon being informed, Block Education Officer (BEO) Chakradhar Mallick and Bhadrak Police reached the school and pacified the agitating parents and students.
Police, meanwhile, detained Behera for interrogation.
It is learnt that as many as 51 students have been booked for resorting to malpractice on Monday.
