Persons Responsible For Throwing Fireballs At Elephant Herd Identified, Report Sought

Baripada: The Forest department has identified the persons responsible for throwing fireballs on an elephant herd in Dumuria village in Dudhiani range under Karanjia forest division in Mayurbhanj district on July 15.

Addressing a press conference, Karanjia Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Srikant Nayak informed that following an inquiry the two persons involved in the throwing of fireballs at the elephant herd have been identified as Bapi Majhi and Deepak Hembram who work as casual workers with the Forest department.

The Department has sought reports from them as to why they resorted to such an act, Nayak added.

The DFO said that if found guilty, action as deemed under the law will be taken against them.
