Bhubaneswar: The crucial third phase elections in Odisha recorded approximately 71% (70.99%) voter turnout till 11.45 pm from six Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 Assembly segments under these parliamentary seats which went to poll on Saturday.
According to the ECI’s latest data, Sambalpur Lok Sabha segment witnessed highest voter turnout at 76.63% while Bhubaneswar recorded only 62%. The voter turnout in Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Puri saw a turnout of 67.36%,73.69%, 73.30% respectively.
At 81.23%, Angul district came out with the highest voter turnout and Khurda registered the lowest with 63.14%. Among other districts, Nayagarh recorded a 76.3%, Cuttack 65.69%, Deogarh 71.84%, Dhenkanal 70.71%, Keonjhar 73.45%, Mayurbhanj 72.25%, Puri 73.98% and Sambalpur 74.14%.
Out of 42 assembly constituencies, Athamallik recorded the highest voter turnout at 85.42% and Bhubaneswar North witnessed the lowest polling at 51%.
The voting was held from 7 am to 6 pm for all segments.
Remaining six Lok Sabha seats- Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj and 42 Assembly constituencies under them will go to poll on June 1.
