Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Friday apprehended Sailabala Sahu, Supervisor, ICDS Phiringia in Kandhamal district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from an Anganwadi worker (Complainant).
According to an official press release, accused Sailabala Sahu, Supervisor, ICDS Phiringia had demanded and taken a bribe of Rs 5,000 for facilitating the release of the Anganwadi worker’s enhanced salary as well as other material facilities like uniforms etc in respect of the upgradation of the Anganwadi Centre where she is working.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Sahu’s possession of and seized.
Following the trap, Vigilance officials have launched simultaneous searches at two locations of Sahu from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
The Vigilance has registered a case under section 7 of the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 at the Berhampur Vigilance police station.
Further investigation is in progress against the accused ICDS Supervisor Sahu.
