Bhubaneswar: Senior IPS officer Pinak Mishra today assumed the charge of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar. He was accorded a warm welcome at the DCP office in the presence of senior police officials.
Mishra pledged to provide top-notch policing services. “With Durga Puja approaching, we emphasized maintaining law and order to ensure a peaceful and successful celebration,” he said.
As Bhubaneswar attracts visitors from across the country during Puja, anti-socials take advantage of the huge congregation to commit crimes. Mishra said that police will discharge its their duty properly to provide the best security during Puja.
Preventing anti-social elements from exploiting the crowds will be a challenge, he added. He sought cooperation from citizens and intellectuals to ensure optimal security arrangements.
Previously serving as Puri SP, Mishra succeeded Prateek Singh as Bhubaneswar DCP.
