Bhubaneswar: Former MLA Bikram Panda’s aide Sudarshan, who had surrendered at Baidyanathpur Police Station in connection with the murder of BJP leader and lawyer Pitabash Panda, was released from police custody late Thursday night.
Sources indicate that Sudarshan was interrogated regarding financial transactions linked to Bikram Panda, a key accused in the high-profile case.
The investigation has revealed a chilling Rs 50 lakh deal orchestrated for Pitabash Panda’s murder, with an advance payment of Rs 10 lakh.
Berhampur police cracked the case 17 days after the killing with the arrest of 12 accused, including Bikram Panda, the BJD Ganjam District President, and former Mayor Shibshankar Das, alias Pintu, who are among the prime suspects.
