Pitabash Panda Murder Case: Four Accused Remanded To Two-Day Police Custody

Bhubaneswar: In a significant development in the Pitabash Panda murder case, police have remanded four accused, Uma, Chintu, Kurupati, and Yogendra, into two-day custody for further questioning.

According to reports, police will conduct a face-to-face confrontation with the accused to extract the truth.

Earlier, five witnesses participated in a TI parade to identify eight accused in two phases. The TI parade report was received on Thursday. However, the witnesses had identified only two of the accused, Kurupati Bhuyan and Chintu Pradhan, out of the eight. The TI parade report has been submitted to the SDJM court.

In the first phase of the TI parade held at Berhampur Circle jail, two witnesses attempted to identify five accused – Shishupal Kumar Pashtan, Simanchal Nayak, Kundan Kumar, Bipin Swain, and Uma Shankar Bisoi. However, they failed to identify anyone. In the second phase, the witnesses identified Chintu Pradhan and Kurupati Bhuyan out of the accused.
