Bhubaneswar: Bus services operated by the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) have been temporarily suspended on several routes across the State from today up to December 8 on account of the observance of People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) Week also known as Sahid Saptah by the Maoists.
OSRTC bus services have been suspended on five routes in Berhampur, three in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack each, eight in Jeypore, nine in Malkangiri, a route in Rayagada and Sambalpur each, and four in Bhanjanagar, Bhawanipatna, Phulbani, Nabarangpur, and Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh) each.
Here’s the list of routes where OSRTC bus services will remain canceled from 01/02-12-2022 to 07/08-12-2022.
The PLGA Week, which started today and would be observed till December 8, is the last event the Maoists organize in a year.
During the period, Maoists come out with statements on their achievements, failures, strengthening of the organization, and other issues they came across during the year.
They also resort to acts of violence to make their presence felt.
Adequate security arrangements have been made by the district administration of the likely-to-be affected districts to ward off any untoward incidents if any.
