Puri: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday appreciated the sand sculpture of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at the Red Fort in Delhi created by renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on the occasion of Parakram Diwas celebrations.

Pattnaik created a 7-foot high sand sculpture with installations of 500 steel bowls on the 127th birth anniversary of Netaji. He has used about eight tons of sand to create the sculpture.

“I felt honoured when the Prime Minister appreciated the sand art installed by me,” Patnaik said.

So far, Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik has participated in more than 65 international sand art competitions and festivals around the world and won many prizes for our country. He always tries to spread awareness through his sand art. His sand arts are based on social awareness and current issues such as combating HIV/AIDS, Save Environment, Stop Terrorism, Global warming, COVID-19, and many other subjects.
