Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth today via video conferencing as part of the 19th National Rozgar Mela.
The event, held simultaneously across 47 locations nationwide, underscores the Government of India’s steadfast commitment to employment generation and youth empowerment.
Addressing the new recruits, the Prime Minister introduced the mantra “Nagrik Devo Bhava” (The Citizen is God). He emphasized that “Nagrik Kalyan” (service to the people) should remain the core motto for every public servant. The Prime Minister further urged the youth to utilize this opportunity to actively contribute to the nation’s journey toward a developed India by 2047.
In Bhubaneswar, the regional Rozgar Mela was held at the Railway Auditorium under the chairmanship of the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram. Addressing the gathering, Oram encouraged the new recruits to earn respect within their respective organizations by maintaining integrity and to always treat the public with dignity while discharging their official duties.
A total of 186 candidates from Odisha received their appointment letters during the ceremony for various government positions. These recruits will be joining several Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the Department of Financial Services, and the Department of Higher Education, among others.
The event in Bhubaneswar was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, Parmeshwar Funkwal, General Manager, East Coast Railway (ECoR); Prof. Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar; Prof. Shreepad Karmakar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar; Nirmaljit Singh, Chief Post Master General, Odisha Circle; Pranab Kumar Biswas, General Manager & Convener SLBC, Odisha; Abesh Mishra, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner–II, Bhubaneswar; and Bikash Ranjan Sahoo, AGM (Accounts), Bhubaneswar.
The Rozgar Mela is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at accelerating employment generation and providing meaningful career opportunities to the country’s youth. Since its inception, approximately 12 lakh appointment letters have been distributed across 19 editions of the Rozgar Mela, reflecting the government’s continued dedication to fostering a robust and empowered workforce.
