Bhubaneswar: Security arrangements have been beefed up in Bhubaneswar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha tomorrow.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s state-of-the-art Greenfield Data Centre at Info Valley-2 in Jatani. To ensure foolproof security, 50 platoons of police force along with over 300 officers will be deployed across the city.
As per reports, after landing at the airport, the Prime Minister will travel to Info Valley by three helicopters. After the event, he will return to the airport via road through Khandagiri-Jaydev Vihar. Senior SPG officials have already inspected the venue.
The entire stretch from Bhubaneswar to Jatani will remain under a tight security cordon for the Prime Minister’s visit. For this, 223 Sub-Inspectors and Assistant Sub-Inspectors will be deployed on security duty. 71 Inspectors-in-Charge, 37 Additional SPs and DSPs will be engaged in the security arrangements, while 10 officers of SP, DCP and Commandant rank will oversee and handle the overall responsibility.
The concerned police officials have been directed to check the high-rise buildings under construction along the route from Info Valley to Khandagiri police station.
The Commissionerate Police will also conduct a cavalcade rehearsal today as per the Blue Book guidelines, with 28 vehicles to be used. The SPG will have the primary charge of the Prime Minister’s security, with a four-tier impenetrable security cordon to be formed around him.
