Kandhamal: Raikia Police on Monday busted a gun manufacturing unit here and arrested a youth on charges of manufacturing country-made guns.
Police seized a country-made gun and ingredients meant for manufacturing from the possession of the accused identified as Munibar Mallick of Rasiguda village.
Sources said police had arrested Munibar in 2019 on the same charges and sent him to jail. After being released from jail, he again got into the gun manufacturing business and trafficking guns to other districts.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid on Munibar’s house and caught him red-handed.
