Bhubaneswar: Police arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in running a betting racket during IPL matches in Odisha’s Puri town. According to reports, a police team raided a house in the Baliapanda area of Puri town on Wednesday night and arrested the accused while they were trying to escape.
According to reports, all the arrested accused are from neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
The police have seized an LED TV, a sound system, four mobile phones, a register, some cash and other electronic gadgets from their possession, City DSP Prashant Kumar Sahu told the media. Further investigation is underway to find and nab the other accused in the case, Sahu added.
