Cuttack: In a movie-style face-off, cow smugglers tried to escape from the police by throwing a bomb at the latter near Banki T-Bridge in Cuttack district on Wednesday night. However, the police chased the criminals and nabbed two fleeing cow smugglers. The police also rescued 26 cows.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off that cattle were being smuggled from Begunia area in Khurdha district to Tigiriya in Cuttack district, police laid a trap to nab the smugglers.
When the smugglers were passing the Banki T-Bridge, they had a face-off with the police. The police opened fire on the cattle smugglers who fled the scene after hurling bombs. However, police chased the smugglers and succeeded in nabbing two of them.
