Bolangir: Police recovered a smartphone from the prison cell of dreaded gangster Susanta Dhalasamanta during a raid at Odisha’s Bolangir jail.
Soon after the raid on Friday, police officials informed that they seized some contraband items, along with a lighter and a trimmer but now it has come to light that a smartphone was also seized from the gangster’s cell.
The seizure of the smartphone has triggered speculations about whether the gangster was operating his crime syndicate from the Bolangir jail.
The Jail authorities said that a case has been registered with the police in this connection.
According to reports, the smartphone is locked and the police have launched an investigation into the matter. Currently, the gangster is in Cuttack for treatment and efforts will be made to unlock the phone after his return.
