Police Seize Rs 2.4L Cash, Gold & Silver From Accident-Prone Vehicle In Balasore

Balasore: An accident resulted in a significant seizure of gold and cash. Gopalpur police in Balasore district seized Rs 2.4 lakh in cash, 46 grams of gold, and 209 grams of silver from the accident-prone vehicle.

As per reports, the car was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run. A group of youths chased the car bearing the number DL 3S CV 1969 vehicle leading to a collision at Junia Bazaar under Gopalpur police station.

The driver later fled the scene, abandoning two others who were later apprehended by the police.

Police are questioning the detainees to unravel the mystery behind the seized valuables and seized items including Rs 2.4 lakh in cash, 46 grams of gold, and 209 grams of silver.

Gopalpur Police Station In-Charge Ashok Nayak is leading the investigation into the incident. “We are probing the circumstances surrounding the accident and the origin of the seized items,” he said.

The identities of the arrested individuals have not been disclosed, and further investigation is ongoing.
