Cuttack: Trouble mounts for Ollywood singer Sourin Bhatt as Commissionerate Police plans to seek non-bailable warrant (NBW) against him in connection with the alleged cheating and sexual exploitation case filed against him by a young woman.
Since Bhatt has not been cooperating with the police in the investigation against him the Commissionerate Police will pray before the competent court for issuing a NBW against him, informed Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra.
“Since police have been unsuccessful in tracing him despite visiting his home twice we will be praying before the competent court for an NBW against singer Sourin Bhatt,” said Mishra briefing newspersons here on Monday.
Mishra informed that a case was registered at the Mahila police station against singer Sourin Bhatt wherein a young woman had alleged having been cheated and sexually exploited by him.
“In the meantime, Bhatt had obtained interim protection from the High Court but later it has been vacated by the court. The court has asked Bhatt to appear before the Investigating Officer. Despite the best of our efforts, he is avoiding our notice. Therefore, we have issued a Lookout circular notice against him which is still in force. Since there were allegations of cheating against him we have frozen some of his bank accounts as part of the investigation and now we will pray for issuing of NBW against him in a competent court,” explained Mishra.
