Bhubaneswar: The online portal for Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana (GSSBY) has been reopened for receiving new applications for the year 2026-27.
According to a notification issued by the Information and Public Relations Department, the scheme has been renewed for the period from November 1 to November 30.
Working journalists who have not been enrolled under the scheme earlier can apply online through the OWJWS portal — https://owjws.odisha.gov.in — from November 9 to November 30, 2026.
The Department has directed all District Information and Public Relations Officers (DIPROs) to verify the applications between December 1 and December 10, with approval/recommendation from the concerned District Administration, and forward the verified applications to the I&PR Department.
The DIPROs have also been asked to obtain the final district-wise list of journalists insured under GSSBY for 2026-27, including health insurance cards issued by Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), to cross-verify new applications and avoid duplication.
Only eligible working journalists who have not been enrolled earlier will be considered for inclusion under the scheme.
