Bhubaneswar: Power supply has been restored to 99.05 per cent of consumers affected by Cyclone ‘Arnab’ and subsequent floods in eight districts of southern Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Monday.
In a post on social media platform X, Majhi said electricity supply had been fully restored in Boudh, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts.
All 33 kV and 11 kV feeders, along with 33/11 kV substations, have also been made fully operational in these four districts, he said.
Electricity restoration work is underway on a war footing in the remaining affected areas, with administration and electricity department personnel working round the clock to restore power connections to the consumers still without electricity, the Chief Minister said.
The restoration work is being carried out on a priority basis to ensure that power supply is restored to all affected consumers at the earliest, he added.
