Bhubaneswar: Prateek Singh took over as the Deputy Commissioner of Police of Bhubaneswar. After completing a stint of around 20 months in urban policing as DCP Cuttack, Singh, an IPS officer of 2-14-batch was transferred to Bhubaneswar in a major rejig effected earlier this month.
Singh came to the DCP office here at Vani Vihar square on Wednesday evening and met ACsP, IsIC, head of Special Wings and the staff, before assuming charge. Speaking to reporters, Singh said he will work with patience to grab a hold of the crime and law & order situation of the Capital City.
“I will understand the situation, discuss with the officers and personnel about our response and in what ways it can be improved. Focus will be definitely on providing the best services to the public and controlling crime,” said Singh.
He added that VIP security, incidences in slums and security of women will be on the top of priority.
