Bhubaneswar: The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) has been a successful event, with many Pravasi Bharatiyas expressing satisfaction with the way they were treated by the Odisha government and its officers, as well as the hospitality of the people of Odisha.

This was shared by Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo on Saturday.

While speaking to the media, KV Singh Deo highlighted that it was still too early for a complete post-analysis of the event. He mentioned that the Pravasi Bharatiyas, who visited Odisha for this occasion, were pleased with the reception they received.

“The Pravasi Bharatiyas were happy with the way the Odisha government treated them. They also expressed excitement about the upcoming ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ event, scheduled for January 28-29, in Bhubaneswar. During this event, the public will learn more about the MoUs signed and the investment projects that are being grounded,” said KV Singh Deo.

Regarding the success of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, he noted that the event’s full impact would become clear over the next six months to a year.

“Though the PBD has just concluded, the interest shown by the Pravasi Bharatiyas, especially their discussions with officials about potential investments, has been encouraging. The real details about MoUs and projects will be shared during the Utkarsh Odisha event,” he added.

KV Singh Deo also emphasised the importance of the Pravasi Bharatiya platform, which serves as an important space for the Indian diaspora to connect and engage with each other.

He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ghar Wapsi,’ where Indians working abroad, using their expertise and investments, are encouraged to return to India.

The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas continues to serve as a bridge between the Indian diaspora and the nation, strengthening ties and fostering collaboration for India’s future growth.
