Pregnant Woman, Hubby Die In Accident On Digpahandi-Berhampur Road

Bhubaneswar: A tragic accident occurred on the Digpahandi-Berhampur road in Ganjam district, resulting in the deaths of a couple who were travelling on a scooter. Their 2-year-old son was injured in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Pratap Mallick (35) and his pregnant wife Lalita Mallick (30).

The accident occurred when the scooter, driven by Pratap, collided head-on with a bike driven by Sunil Dalai (36), who was also injured. Lalita, who was eight months pregnant, was rushed to the Digpahandi Community Health Center, where she and her husband were declared dead.

The injured Sunil was referred to the MKCG Medical College in Berhampur for further treatment. The police have recovered the bodies and initiated an investigation into the accident. The vehicles involved have been seized, and the bodies will be sent for autopsy
