Bhubaneswar: Tikayatpali Police detained four persons in connection with the murder of a seven-month pregnant woman which occurred in Sundergarh district on Wednesday.
As per reports, the victim Soumyamayee Behera was at home when two youths came and knocked on the door of her house. When she opened the door, the miscreants snatched her gold chain and mangalsutra. When she raised an alarm and resisted them, the miscreants shot her at close range.
Meanwhile, police on Friday detained four persons, including husband, Deben Behera, a police personnel, and two others, for questioning.
The police are investigating the matter, and it is suspected that the husband might be involved in the crime.
The incident has sent shockwaves in the area, and the police are working to unravel the mystery behind the gruesome murder.
