Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu concluded her two-day visit to Odisha and departed for Lucknow this morning.

She was bid farewell at the Biju Patnaik International airport by Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers Pravati Parida and Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, and Speaker Surama Padhee, among others.

According to reports, the President left Raj Bhavan under tight security provided by the Commissionerate Police and was escorted to the airport. For her departure, 23 platoons of forces were deployed along the route from Raj Bhavan to the airport, and traffic was restricted from 9 am to 9:30 am.

During her visit, President Murmu addressed the winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly yesterday, marking a historic first for the state.

It is pertinent to mention that on Thursday, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the Odisha Legislative Assembly, becoming the first President to share her insight with the members of the House.  Her speech was an emotional tribute to her roots, recalling her journey from a humble tribal village to the highest office in the nation.

Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi took to his X handle to express gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu and wrote: “ Today, at Bhubaneswar Airport, we bid farewell to the Honourable President Smt Droupadi Murmu in the presence of the esteemed Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Speaker Surama Padhee, and senior ministers. For the first time in the 75-year history of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, the President’s historic address was an unforgettable milestone in our state’s democratic journey. Her guidance and blessings have given renewed inspiration and strength to our government and all citizens of the state in building a prosperous Odisha by 2036. On behalf of the soil of Odisha, we extend our heartfelt thanks to this daughter of the land for her successful and guiding visit.”
