Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is expected to spend some time at room no. 11 in the Odisha Legislative Assembly premises today, after addressing the House.
According to reports, the room, which was once her office as a Transport Minister, has been specially renovated for her visit. A new chair and table have been arranged for the President, who is likely to reminisce about her time in office. The entire Assembly premises are under tight security as the President visits.
Notably, Murmu served as the governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021, being the longest-serving governor for that state, as a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Rairangpur Assembly constituency from 2000 to 2009, and as minister of State (Independent Charge), Government of Odisha, from 2000 to 2004.
