Sundergarh: Sundergarh Town Police on Thursday arrested Basant Tazan, the prime accused in the Sundergarh Government Medical College job scam. Tazan was forwarded to court following his arrest.
Worth mentioning, news of over a hundred job aspirants being duped of lakhs of rupees for different posts in Sundergarh Government Medical College had came to light in April last year.
Earlier, police had arrested seven persons in this connection and forwarded them to court. On the other hand, prime accused Basant Tazan, who was serving as a teacher in Kankerjura Primary School in Balisankara block was since then absconding.
Acting on a tip-off that Tazan was hiding in Jharsuguda, police raided the place leading to his arrest.
