Bargarh: A private nursing home in Bijepur was sealed by the administration on Tuesday following allegations of negligence in treatment that led to the death of a pregnant woman and her newborn.
According to officials, a complaint was lodged a few months ago by Narayan Mahanand of Tuhilamal village in Bijepur. He alleged that his wife died along with the newborn due to negligence and delay in treatment at the nursing home.
Following the complaint to Bargarh District Magistrate Aditya Goyal, the district administration and Health Department conducted an investigation into the matter. Based on the findings, the nursing home was sealed.
The action was carried out in the presence of police personnel and Bijepur Tehsildar. Officials said further proceedings will be taken as per the investigation report.
