Bhubaneswar: Governor and Chancellor Prof Ganeshi Lal on Friday appointed Prof (Dr) Datteswar Hota as the Vice Chancellor of Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS). On March 5, this year, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered the establishment of Odisha University of Health Sciences for imparting universal quality health education in allopathy, homoeopathy, ayurveda, nursing, lab technology, and all other paramedical sciences in the state, coinciding with the 107th birth anniversary of Biju Patnaik.
Dean and Principal of SCB Medical College and Hospital, Prof Dr Datteswar Hota was appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to oversee initial functioning of the university. All the medical and allied health science colleges/institutions will be affiliated to Odisha University of Health Sciences, Bhubaneswar, from the academic session 2023-24.. More than 100 medical institutions starting from nursing to medical colleges and pharmacy allied medical science to physiotherapy will come under the ambit of OUHS.
