Bolangir: The district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC in Bangomunda in Bolangir district following a group clash between two groups.
The prohibitory order has been clamped in view of the Patakhanda Jatra today till midnight of tomorrow (October 26), informed Dayamaya Padhi, Sub Collector, Titilagarh. Earlier, in the day police have carried a flag march in view of the tense situtation.
According to reports, two days back during the Chhatar Jatra, Adivasis and Dalits had clashed over some issue in Bangomunda village. Five members of the Dalit Samaj had attacked few members of the Adivasi Samaj.
Members of the Adivasi Samaj along with some villagers had gheraoed Bangomunda police station on Tuesday from 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM demanding the arrest of the accused persons belonging to the Dalit Samaj.
Tension prevailed in the area following the incident. Again in the evening some villagers created ruckus at the Bangomunda Golei Chhak.
Meanwhile, there are reports of five arrests from each side.Since palpable tension prevails in Bangomunda village policemen have been depolyed at all Chhaks and lanes.
Police officials from Muribahal, Tureikela, Bangomunda,and Sindhekela police stations, Kantabanji SDPO Gouranga Charan Sahu, and Additional SP Suresh Nayak are camping in Bangomunda.
