Bhubaneswar: A well-known face of the Jatra world, Guru Prusti, passed away in a road accident near Chingudipur on National Highway 16 in Bhadrak district on Sunday evening.
According to reports, Guru had started his acting journey with the play ‘Bada Danda Ra Bhikari’ by Ashutosh Mohapatra, which made him a household name in the Jatra circuit. His dialogue ‘Paida kie kahila…’ became iconic.
Though he had his roots in Cuttack, Guru chose Jatra over cinema and television serials. He began his Jatra journey in 2019 and quickly became a favourite among fans with his impeccable comic timing. Guru was as lively off-stage as he was on-stage, and his passing is a huge loss for the Jatra fraternity.
