Public Hearing Held Into Puri Stampede Incident

Bhubaneswar: A public hearing was conducted by the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg at the Special Circuit House in Puri, regarding the stampede incident near the Gundicha temple on June 29, 2025, which resulted in the deaths of three devotees.

During the hearing, 48 people and organisations attended and provided their statements. The enquiry aims to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

The Development Commissioner, Anu Garg, is leading the investigation to determine the causes of the stampede and identify measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The statements recorded during the public hearing will contribute to the investigation’s findings.
