Bhubaneswar: The second day of the Global Energy Leaders Summit 2025 featured a pivotal Public-Private Dialogue session themed “Partnership,” focusing on sustainability, balance, and innovation in the energy transition.
Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo was present during the session. The discussion, moderated by William Morrison, Chairman of MetricsLed, highlighted the need to shift from fossil-based fuels to non-fossil-based energy sources to enable a successful transition. Principal Secretary, Energy, Vishal Kumar Dev also contributed to the discourse.
The panel emphasized that overcoming the challenges of the energy transition in India requires robust Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models, with balanced investment being a critical component. Odisha’s distribution system was cited as a notable example—presented as a classic model of effective energy management under the DISCOM framework.
The dialogue featured a distinguished panel comprising Praveer Sinha, CEO of Tata Power; Debabrata Ghosh, India Head, Aurora Energy; Chandra Bhusan, CEO of iForest; Vivek Jaswal, EVP (Green Hydrogen & PMO), Renew; and Prashant Choubey, President, Avaada Group.
The summit underscored that innovative PPP investments and a balanced approach to energy infrastructure are essential for achieving a sustainable, non-fossil-based energy future and ensuring resilient distribution systems.
