Bhubaneswar: Students of all State-run universities in Odisha can avail wi-fi facilities on the campus free of cost soon.
As a part of the government’s commitment to promote a conducive learning environment in higher educational institutions, the Odisha government has decided to install WI-FI on the campuses of all public universities across the State.
In a letter to registrars of all public universities, the Higher Education Department special secretary instructed them to take steps to furnish a detailed estimate including GST and service charges of the executing agency for approval regarding the installation of WiFi facilities.
The decision of free WiFi facilities for the students was taken as most of the study resources/ books are now-a-days available, online, the letter stated.
The government move is expected to empower students with seamless connectivity and enable them to access a wealth of educational resources online.
