Bhubaneswar: More devotees may arrive at Puri for the upcoming Rath Yatra if the Covid-19 situation is under control. In view of this, all line departments have been instructed to make arrangements accordingly, said Puri Collector Samarth Verma on Thursday.
After a preparatory meeting over the Rath Yatra, Verma said that if the situation allows, around 1.5 to 2 times more devotees are expected in comparison to normal Rath Yatra. All arrangements are being done accordingly.
He informed all the departments had been asked to prepare an action plan for the festival. The departments presented the action plan in the meeting today.
Feedback was received from servitors, temple officials, police, and other line departments for modification or improvement of the action plan. The departments will revise the action plan and will present it again after a few days.
Individual discussions will be held with each line department and the action plan will be scrutinized before taking the final decision, said Verma.
