Puri: The district administration here on Wednesday held the first preparatory meeting for Rath Yatra, 2023. During the meeting, matters related to crowd management, safety, health, rituals and over the conduct of the festival were discussed, said Collector Samarth Verma.
There will be dedicated meetings for different festivals associated with the Car festival, such as one with Bhoi and Maharana Sevayats for the upcoming Akshaya Tritiya on April 23, said Verma. He added that the Srimandir Parikrama project work is on at full pace, and is expected to be completed before Rath Yatra.
There will be a discussion with the Municipality for finalising the parking areas, said SP Dr KV Singh. For force deployment and mobilisation of officers, there will be a meeting with the State Police Headquarters soon, he added.
“Sahi committee meetings are being held to discuss the movement of traffic during the making of the chariots at the Ratha Khala,” the SP added.
