Bhubaneswar: Two patients who sustained burn injuries in the firecracker explosion incident in Puri on May 29 evening were released from the SCB Medical College and Hospital following the advice of doctors. The injured persons are Balram Das (15) and Manmohan Behera (24).
An official release from the Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Monday said that of the 17 persons undergoing treatment in different hospitals two were discharged today from SCB MCH, Cuttack, on Monday. Previously six injured persons were discharged from different hospitals in Puri, Bhubaneswar, and Cuttack. As of Monday, eight injured persons have been discharged from the hospitals.
Presently 15 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals and no casualty was reported so far on Monday. A total of 13 persons died due to the accident, it added.
The state government is closely monitoring the situation.
