Cuttack: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has sought more time from the Orissa High Court to file its report on the ongoing Puri Heritage Corridor project.
The HC again directed the ASI and Odisha Government to carry out a joint inspection of the construction activities going around the Jagannath Temple in Puri. The next hearing of the case is to be held on May 16.
It is pertinent to mention that the High Court while hearing a petition filed by one Dilip Baral, a resident of Puri, had sought replies from the State government and ASI on what is being constructed around the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, whether permission has been obtained for carrying out such construction and lastly whether there is any structural threat to the temple or not.
