Bhubaneswar: Puri police have arrested three persons in connection with a murder which took place on Saturday near Raibahadur Lane.
The accused trio have been booked under Section 302 of the IPC and SC & ST(PA) Act by Kumbharpada police.
“All the three accused persons directly involved in the murder of one Biki Naik have been apprehended. The weapon of offence is being recovered,” a senior police official said.
The accused were identified as Rakesh Mohapatra (34), of Rayabahadur Lane, Purna Chandra Behera (24) of Charinala, Patitapaban Nagar, and Rajesh Kumar Mohapatra of Rayabahadur Lane.
“Prima Facie reason ascertained is sudden provocation and quarrel. Further investigation is on and all angles are being probed,” the official added.
