Puri Police Map Out Traffic Route For Bahuda Yatra And Suna Besha

Puri: With Bahuda Yatra and Sunabesha 2026 approaching, Puri Police have issued a traffic advisory for four-wheeler and two-wheeler vehicles to ensure smooth movement of devotees and prevent congestion in the pilgrim town.

As per the advisory shared by Puri Police on X, specific parking zones and entry restrictions have been put in place for four-wheelers and two-wheelers coming to Puri during the festivities.

Two-wheelers entering from the Bhubaneswar direction will be routed via Malatipatapur, Batagaon, Mangalaghat Chhak and Gokhasahi. The primary parking for them will be at Old Jagannath Ballav Parking. Once that space is full, vehicles will be directed to park at Matitota playground, followed by the Matitota helipad parking area.

For exit, riders parked at Old JBPC can return through Jatia Babaji Chhak, Kumbharpada Police Station, Atharanala and Batagaon. Alternatively, they can also take the route near Shree Setu and Mangalaghat Chhak.

Two-wheelers coming from Brahmagiri will enter via Mangalaghat Chhak and Gokhasahi and park at Old JBPC. If needed, overflow parking will be at Matitota playground and then at Matitota helipad. Vehicles will have to exit through the same route they came in.

Riders arriving from Konark will be diverted through Baidas Nagar, Grid Sub-Station, Bhudan Chhak, Helipad Chhak, Penthakata Chhak, CT Road and Subhash Bose Chhak. Designated parking for them has been arranged at Blue Flag Beach and near Hotel Neelachal Ashok. Return will be permitted on the same route.

As per the advisory, all private four-wheelers have been asked to use three designated parking zones. Vehicles coming from the Bhubaneswar side will be guided to park at Talabania. Those arriving from the Brahmagiri route will be directed to the Samanga parking area. Four-wheelers coming from the Konark side will be parked at the Sterling parking zone.

Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) coming from the Bhubaneswar side will be allowed to travel via Pipili – Satyabadi – Chandanpur – Malatipatapur, Malatipatapur ROB, Baidas Nagar and Grid Station to reach the parking area at Talabania. They will be parked sequentially at Bhudan Parking, OLA (533) Guest House, Helipad, ITI College Parking, Central School Parking, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture Field Parking and Hygienic Fish Market Parking.

Vehicles parked in the Talabania area will return via Central School, Bhudan Chhak, Balighat Chhak, Samangara Chhak and Batagaon. Once all these parking areas are full, LMVs will be directed via Malatipatapur – Batagaon – Shree Setu route and parked at the designated place near Shree Setu Overbridge. After that parking is also full, LMVs will be asked to park at the designated parking area near Sterling Chhak, via Mangalaghat and Omkareshwar Temple. Vehicles will use the same route while returning.Once all the above parking spaces are filled, LMVs will be directed via Malatipatapur – Batagaon – Mangalaghat route and parked at Samanga Parking. While returning, they will exit via the road near Shree Setu.

Light motor vehicles (LMVs) coming from Brahmagiri will proceed via Mangalaghat Chowk. Parking arrangements have been made at Samanga Parking. The return route for these vehicles will be Samanga → Mangalaghat Chowk → Brahmagiri.

Vehicles coming from the Konark side will proceed via Baidas Nagar Chowk and Grid Station Chowk towards the Talabania area. They will follow the same parking arrangements at Talabania, which include OLA Guest House, Helipad, ITI, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture Field, and Hygienic Fish Market.

The Puri Police have urged all commuters and devotees to strictly follow the traffic guidelines, park only in the designated areas, and cooperate with on-duty personnel for the smooth conduct of the sacred Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha.
