Bhubaneswar: The MKCG Medical College in Berhampur has landed in a controversy again following a fresh ragging allegation levelled by a junior student against his seniors on the campus.
The junior student lodged a complaint at anti-ragging cell, mentioning that she was mentally and physically tortured by the seniors on the campus. He alleged that seniors forced him to do their personal works.
The anti-ragging cell of the MKCG Medical College has convened a meeting today to discuss the allegation and decide future course of action.
Earlier, a complaint was filed with the anti-ragging cell by the guardian of a second-year MBBS student, alleging that his daughter was subjected to torture by some senior students.
Principal Suchitra Dashsaid that MKCG Medical College has a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. Strict and swift action will be taken if any such allegations come.
“The anti-ragging committee of the medical college will investigate the allegation. The committee meeting will be held on Monday to decide the next course of action. We will take stringent action against students if they are found involved in ragging,” she said.
