Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for five districts of western Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms in the next three hours.
According to the bulletin issued at 10:40am, rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Sundargarh districts.
The weather office has advised people in the affected districts to keep a watch on weather conditions and take necessary precautions for their safety.
IMD has urged residents to avoid open areas and take shelter indoors during lightning and thunderstorm activity.
