Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain or thundershower with one or two intense spells is likely to occur in 22 districts of Odisha within the next three hours.
“Light to moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spells of rain is likely to affect some districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack (including Cuttack City), Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur within next three hours,” said a nowcast warning issued by the Meteorological Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here at 7.30 PM today.
The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for these districts.
The IMD has warned that water logging in low lying area, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption is likely in urban areas. The weather agency has advised people to avoid movement in affected areas and make arrangements for drainage of excess water.
It has further advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
