Bhubaneswar: After two consecutive days of relentless rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a significant decrease in rainfall activity across Odisha tomorrow.
According to the regional weather office, heavy rainfall (7-11 cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places in only five districts including Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Keonjhar.
As per the latest prediction, The rainfall intensity is expected to decrease significantly tomorrow, with only isolated heavy rainfall events predicted in the aforementioned districts.
The IMD’s prediction has, meanwhile, brought relief to the people of Odisha, who have been battling continuous downpours for the past 48 hours.
After three days of hiatus, IMD issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning to 14 districts on October 2.
“Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh,” read the IMD prediction for October 2.
While the rainfall intensity is decreasing, citizens are still advised to remain cautious, especially in low-lying areas and waterlogged regions.
