Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a yellow nowcast warning for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places over the two cities during the next three hours.
The warning was issued by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, at 4 pm on August 8, 2026.
According to the nowcast, weather conditions may deteriorate temporarily during the period, with thunderstorms and lightning likely in some areas of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The Meteorological Centre has advised people to keep a close watch on the weather and plan their activities accordingly for safety.
Residents have also been urged to exercise caution during thunderstorms and lightning, particularly while travelling or staying in exposed areas.
