Bhubaneswar: While the conditions are favourable for the advancement of the Southwest Monsoon to some parts of south Chhattisgarh and south Odisha, the regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued rain and thunderstorm alert across Odisha amid the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places in south Odisha and one or two places in north Odisha.
YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph likely to occur at one or two places in Nawarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Kandhamal.
