Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a nowcast warning, predicting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, along with gusty winds of 30–40 kmph, in parts of four Odisha districts during the next three hours.
The warning, issued at 3 pm, covers Khordha, Kataka, Jagatsinghpur and Puri districts. Bhubaneswar and Kataka cities are also likely to experience the adverse weather conditions, according to the IMD.
The weather office said light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is very likely at a few places over these districts during the next three hours. Gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph are also expected during the period.
The IMD advised people in the affected areas to remain alert and keep a close watch on changing weather conditions. It urged residents to take necessary precautions and plan their activities accordingly in view of the possibility of worsening weather.
