Bhubaneswar: The Low Pressure Area (LPA) over north Odisha & neighbourhood now lies over coastal Odisha & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation and extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and the Southwest monsoon has been active over the State, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Under the effect of the abovementioned meteorological features, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places of Odisha over the next five days with heavy to very heavy spells at some places, the IMD has predicted.
The IMD has issued Orange and Yellow alerts for some districts in this connection.
Here’s the IMD’s warning and forecast for the districts of the State for the next five days:
Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 16.07.2022).
Light to Moderate Rain or Thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.
Orange Warning (Be Prepared) 1 Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Bargarh. Impact and Action Suggested: i) It may trigger landslides/mudslides in vulnerable hilly areas. ii) Temporarily water logging in low lying areas, occasional reduction of visibility causing traffic congestion in urban areas and some damages to Kutcha road. iii) Keep arrangements for drainage of excess water.
Yellow Warning (Be updated) 2. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Jharsuguda.
Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 17.07.2022).
Light to Moderate Rain or Thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Light to Moderate Rain or Thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts ofSouth Interior Odisha and at many places over the district of rest Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be updated) 1. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bargarh, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh.
