Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has issued a Nowcast warning for light to moderate rain with lightning and thunderstorm in parts of Odisha over the next three hours.
According to the Yellow Message issued on Wednesday, the weather activity is “very likely” at one or two places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Gajapati, Koraput, Rayagada, Anugola and Kataka, including Kataka city.
The IMD has advised people in these districts to keep a watch on weather conditions and plan accordingly for their safety as conditions may worsen.
Officials said the alert is valid for the next three hours from the time of issue. Citizens have been asked to avoid open areas and take shelter during lightning and thunderstorms.
