Bhubaneswar: Two days after the BJP replaced Rajendra Kumar Das with Parshuram Dhada from Soro Assembly seat, the former today resigned from the primary membership of the party.

He sent his resignation letter to party State president Manmohan Samal.

The BJP had allotted ticket to Rajendra Das, a former MLA from Dhamnagar. In the last-minute candidate switch, the saffron party withdrew the ticket and allotted it to Parshuram Dhada.

Dhada, a two-time MLA from Soro, had joined the BJP after resigning from BJD two days ago.

Rajendra Das, the former BJD MLA, had revolted against the party during the by-election in Dhamnagar in 2022 for which he was expelled from the party.
