Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) announced its support to BJP nominee Aswini Vaishnaw for the ensuing Rajya Sabha poll scheduled on February 27.
Through a press release, BJD announced its support to Vaishnaw for the ‘larger interest of the State’.
“Biju Janata Dal will support the candidature of Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister, Railways, Communication, and Information and Technology for the larger interest of the State’s Railways and Telecom Development in the ensuing election to Rajya Sabha-2024,” the BJD announced through a press release.
The BJP has announced Vaishnaw as the party candidate for the Rajya Sabha election.
The party’s Central Election Committee has released a list of Rajya Sabha candidates nominating Vaishnaw from Odisha.
In 2019, Vaishnaw was elected to the Upper House from Odisha with the support of BJD.
